ANXIETY MANAGEMENT


What is anxiety.? A fear of the unknown, a fear of the known, fish, deep water, a fear of failure? some of the feelings we have are linked to difficulty in getting breath, tightness in the chest, very rapid heartbeat, sweating, tingling or numbness, faintness, rigid muscles, cramps and sudden emotional outbursts. But how can we deal with anxiety either before an open water swim race, triathlon or even just entering a new body of water. 

We will work closely from both our base here in the canaries and remotely with you to increase your confidence and give you the skills and knowledge to deal with Anxiety.

STROKE CORRECTION AND TECHNICAL SWIM STRUCTURE


The most misunderstood aspect of swimming is the right stroke for the right job. So many swimming teachers still hold to old methods, many triathlon coaches advise alterations instead of looking at the root cause of the problem. Many seasoned swimmers choose to focus on paddle work. 

This all results in poor technique, injury, wasted energy and a misunderstanding of the basic concept of movement through water.

We treat you as an individual, your height matters, your body matters, your confidence matters. We will work with you to keep you injury free whilst learning the importance of posture, position and a key to how the water works for you.

OCEAN ENVIRONMENT  AND OPEN WATER SAFETY


For some the Ocean, lake, river or sea is a mysterious beast full of danger and anxiety. Our open water system coaches you through all aspects of open water areas, Paul a national beach lifeguard trainer assessor, surfer, beach lifeguard and open water specialist has worked hard on a plan to introduce you to tides and tidal movement, lateral drift, rip currents, and other water conditions that can help you to achieve your best swims. After guiding many ironman Lanzarote athletes to swim their fastest swims on the course. To planning crossings and open water swim with safety a priority.

OPEN WATER SKILL SET


The open water skills we coach are designes around your arena. An essential part of your open water experience is to perfect, breathing techniques, sighting, drafting, buoy turns, role overs change of pace, attacking and leading. make your next swim a game of cat and mouse, learn to confuse, disorientate and swim the swim of your life, whilst using less energy and commanding the water like never before.

GOAL SETTING


Many of us lack the focus to set achievable goals. We try to reach high and feel like we fall in the beginning. Its the new year plan that never gets finished. We will work with you to fix achievable goals and give you a focus point to work on. We will keep open contact with you to allow you to ask questions and move to different phases of your swim focus and ability.

RACE PLAN AND EVENT TACTICS


Heading into any event or race can be a daunting experience, some liken it to delicious fear. Through knowledge we understand that planning is everything. Once the plan is set and the tactics are established, we can then get on with the job in hand, with a consious understanding as to how our race plan will be realised and how to deal with anything that comes our way. This is the full picture of your day, the NOP/EAP and reporting all in one. After working through your tactics helping facilitate your event, we will review and put in place a follow up plan.

SESSION PLANNING


The death of a salesman is the guy who wakes in the morning and thinks ''ok who shall I call today?'' The importance of a structured plan and time management is invaluable. We can provide you with a structure to stick to over a set period, focusing on both technical problems and corrective drills whilst incorporating endurance exercises.

ADVANCED VIDEO ANALYSIS  


45 min pool session - 45 min consultation €120.00

This is undoubtedly the ultimate way to gauge your progress and to identify the exact measures you need to take to improve your swimming. During the session you will also receive tailore made drills to help develop and refine your technique. These 90 minute sessions include our 45 minute advanced video analysis, pool correction session and a 45 minute sit down with our open water swimming coach to discuss and work through your next step to a perfect stroke!
